An extensive plot was divided into smaller parts
We were pleased to hear that our long-term Client asked us to design a house for his family and, except for several instructions, gave us a free hand to design it. Each project represents a great challenge and responsibility for the architect, but this was true for this project many times over.
The subject plot is located in a new part of the town of Trnava, surrounded by typical individual buildings. The size of the plot, which is larger compared to the surrounding plots, was a good base for its division into smaller parts.

Shape and material design
The first part is a front garden, which we intentionally left without a high, dense fencing, was substituted with an open and transparent fencing in order to show the full beauty of the building´s façade to passers-by.
The house design is intentionally neat, easy to read and simple in line. In terms of the materials used, the individual parts are divided into face concrete, white plaster and ceramic bricks. The street façade together with the front garden form a balanced unit, while the lower concrete part protects the owners´ privacy.
Behind this part there is an inside swimming pool and a small semi-open atrium, garden for the owners´ everyday use with direct access from the day and pool part of the house. The south-west orientation guarantees all-day long sunlight in the yard. We have also designed a part of the terrace for summer barbecues that may be shaded.
The day part forming the heart of the house consists of a living room with a high gallery, dining room and a kitchen. It also optically and functionally connects the hallway, night part, second floor (gallery) and the already mentioned internal yard. For practical reasons the kitchen is connected to the storeroom and laundry room through a hidden door.
Another section of the family house is a night part with rooms that are most protected from the street noise. The part for the parents is equipped with their own walk-in closet and bathroom. The white dominant of the first floor includes a large gallery over the living room, guest room and a home office for the owner.

The north-west part includes all the technical facilities of the family house and a double garage with the possibility to charge electric cars.
In terms of energy efficiency, the family house is classified as a low-energy building. Ventilation is ensured by highly efficient recuperative devices. Heating and cooling is ensured by a heat pump which is connected to the floor heating and ceiling cooling.
