Design
The apartment is located in a prestigious neighborhood in a close proximity of downtown Bratislava. The final design was largely driven by client’s requirements and the overall disposition of the apartment. It’s minimalist, yet functional. It doesn’t aspire to be the most beautiful or the best in class. It just perfectly strikes the balance between client’s needs and aesthetics.
Our task was to implement a lot of storage space and use high quality materials throughout the whole interior. We opted for neutral color scheme, glossy finish and warm oak wood.
The final interior design introduces a number of luxurious elements while maintaining the warm and welcoming feeling of a home. Neutral and glossy finishes represent the elements of luxury and oak wood represents the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The simplicity of the kitchen layout didn’t negatively impact its spatial effectiveness. Storage space capacity was maximised by using spacious kitchen cabinets. Their glossy finish and the contrast of black and white color makes the itchen design really eye catching. We integrated cabinet handles into the panels so that they don’t stick out. It not only looks nice, but it goes hand in hand with the minimalist design too. There is also a storage room hidden behind one of the panels.
Materials
Material scheme is rather simple. The dominating colors used throughout the whole interior are, for the most part, shades of gray, high gloss white and black MDF in combination with solid oak wood. Neutral gray color creates a nice contrast with the warm oak wooden flooring. Interior accessories are again in various shades of gray.

Tiles
Glossy finish is consistent throughout the whole interior, including bathroom where we can find glossy gray marble tiling. The only exception to this rules is the home office where matte laminated materials were used instead.
Disposition
Most rooms of the apartment face southwest. Again, the only exception, the home office, faces southeast. The overall interior is very bright and spacious. There is virtually no vestibule. The moment you enter the apartment, it feels like you stepped into the main area. We had to make some minor layout adjustments to meet the client’s needs. We switched the position of the couch and the TV set and enlarged the shower a bit.
Living room
Living room is a perfect example of minimalist design. We only kept the essentials. There is a nice gray couch with a glass coffee table, an ottoman and a TV set. That’s it. No other bells and whistles. The color scheme is consistent and simple. Monochromatic furniture plays nicely with the floor. To add a little bit of uniqueness, we decided to lay flooring on one of the interior walls. By doing that, we achieved a visual separation between the two spaces.
Furniture
Interior furniture comprises a mix of custom-made pieces and models made by well-known brands. Designing the furniture from scratch allowed us to have a great deal of flexibility and full control over the look of the whole apartment. Furniture design borrows colors from all around the apartment. The combination of oak wood and other materials creates a nice harmony and gives the interior a balanced feel.
Bedroom
Large space allowed for the bed to be placed in the middle of the bedroom. In order for us to do that, internal wiring needed to be updated. Wardrobe with a lot of storage space is hidden behind the rolling doors. Additional storage is integrated into the bed.
Home office
Home office was primarily designed for work. It can be also transformed into guest bedroom if needed. Furniture is made of matte laminated material with a wood-like finish as opposed to the white high gloss finish in the other rooms. We can find here a nice little desk with a comfy sofa. One of the interior walls is decorated with a concrete plaster.
Bathroom
The most prominent element in the bathroom is gray marble tiling and custom made cabinets with mirror doors that optically enlarge the space. In this case, the property developer was responsible for finishing the bathroom. Our task was to design it and make sure it meets high quality standards.
Hallway
Materials designed for the hallway are consistent with the kitchen. We successfully managed to fit here a lot of storage space. It is neatly hidden behind the glossy veneer. Bathroom and bedroom doors are seamlessly integrated into the veneer too. The hallway appears to be larger than it is thanks to glossy veneer and large mirrors.
